🚌🚶‍♀️Walking Bus🚶‍♀️ 🚌 As you are aware Scoil Bhríde Buachaillí and Scoil Bhríde Cailíní are part of the Safe Routes to School Programme. In the last year, representatives from the scheme have been gathering data through the Front of School Audit and Parent/Guardian survey. A sincere thank you for your contributions. Following on from this, as the first step towards making pupils' journeys to school safer, Fingal County Council and Safe Routes to School will be trialling a ‘Walking Bus’ for the pupils in our schools. A ‘Walking Bus’ is a healthy, environmentally conscious, safe and fun way to travel to school. It is a scheme that involves parent volunteers walking children to school along a set route. Waterville was identified as one of the areas our children are walking from.A Walking Bus is a parent-led initiative where walking to school is encouraged and supported. Each walking bus has an adult ‘driver’ at the front and an adult ‘conductor’ at the rear. The trial ‘Walking Bus’ will be led by staff from Fingal County Council's Active Travel & Sport Dept. However, it is hoped that they will be able to identify enough parent volunteers to lead the bus in the new school term after the summer holidays. Please see the attached flyer. When: Tuesday 11th, Tuesday 18th and Tuesday 25th of JuneMeeting point: Waterville Park Playground -https://maps.app.goo.gl/vbWPpCBzwWvp9dx4AMeeting Time: 8.20a.m. Please click this link forms.office.com/e/WFwyT0mUcK to register your interest.
