Ms O’Donnell’s 2nd Class…
We’ve had a very fun time in 2nd class since our last update! During Science Week, we had lots of fun exploring experiments like making slime, the Dancing Raisins Experiment, and trying the Smarties Experiment. The children really enjoyed learning through these hands-on activities.
We also had an exciting visit to St. Brigid’s GAA Club where we learned some handball skills and new techniques. On our way there, the boys enjoyed a nature walk along the canal, which was a lovely adventure!
As we approach Christmas, we’re all getting excited for the break. We’ve been getting creative with our Christmas activities, making Christmas tree art, decorating gingerbread men, and creating delicious polar bear peppermint treats. We are also looking forward to performing our carol ‘Santa Claus is Coming to Town’ at the school concert for everyone to enjoy!
September has been a very busy month for 2nd Class! During September, the boys explored the theme of friendship. They created beautiful compliment flowers, showing their kindness and appreciation for each other. They had lots of fun learning and singing the song ‘Circle of Friends’, and even created their own mini circle of friends art!
The boys have also begun exploring Autumn and enjoyed making their own Autumn trees using paint and crepe paper. During Maths, we focused on shapes and had a lot of fun creating  ‘shape monsters’ in preparation for Halloween. The boys designed some fantastic and spooky monsters!
