Along with schools in other parishes around the country, all five primary schools in the parish of Blanchardstown have been selected for participation in a pilot process to explore the level of interest in reconfiguration, i.e. to change from Catholic patronage to that of another management body (as yet unidentified).
This is a matter of great importance, as the outcome could have a seismic effect on the pupils of the school and all aspects of school life. The thoughts and opinions of the Board of Management, the staff and the parents and guardians will be used to formulate the decision of the school community to retain the status quo or to change patronage.
A meeting of parents and guardians will be held in the school PE Hall at 7.30p.m. on Tuesday 14th March, at which a presentation will be given by independent facilitator Deirdre Mathews. This will be followed by an opportunity for questions thereafter. This is a matter for all parents and guardians. It is crucial that the views of all parents and guardians be heard, so I encourage all parents and guardians to make themselves available to attend.
Is mise le meas,
Séamus Sullivan, Principal
